Crown Uzama (born April 12, 2000), professionally known as Shallipopi, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter who quickly became one of the leading figures in the country’s street-pop and Afrobeats movement. Hailing from Benin City, Edo State, Shallipopi began his career by posting freestyles and short videos on social media platforms around 2015, gradually building a following for his unique delivery style and Pidgin-infused lyrics.
Shallipopi‘s breakthrough came in 2023 with the viral hit single “Elon Musk,” which catapulted him to national prominence, topping streaming charts and introducing his signature “Pluto Presido” persona. Following this success, he released his debut EP Planet Pluto (2023) and his highly successful debut studio album, Presido La Pluto (2023), which debuted at number one on the Nigerian TurnTable Top 50 Albums chart. His music is characterized by a distinctive, conversational flow, playful lyricism, and a blend of street-pop, Amapiano, and Afrobeats, often referencing his Benin City heritage.
