Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, widely known by his stage name Zlatan Ibile or simply Zlatan, is a prominent Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and dancer. Born on December 19, 1994, he is one of the most influential figures in the Nigerian street-hop and Afrobeats music scenes. His career began gaining traction after he won the Airtel-sponsored “One Mic Campus Tour” music competition in 2014. He gained widespread recognition in 2017 with the single “My Body” and further cemented his fame in 2018 through collaborations like “Able God” and the release of his game-changing single “Zanku.”
The single “Zanku” (an acronym for Zlatan Abeg No Kill Us) was a cultural phenomenon that introduced the viral dance move known as “Zanku” or “Legwork.” This marked the beginning of his rise to stardom, characterized by high-energy music and viral dance trends. His collaboration with Burna Boy on the hit single “Killin Dem” earned him several major awards, including Best Collaboration and Song of the Year at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in 2019. Zlatan is also an entrepreneur, having founded his own record label, Zanku Records, in 2020.
