Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, known professionally as Mercy Chinwo, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born on September 5, 1990, in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Chinwo’s career began at an early age, singing in her local church’s children’s choir. She gained widespread recognition in 2012 after winning the second season of the Nigerian music talent show, “Nigerian Idol.” In 2017, she signed with the gospel record label EeZee Conceptz and released her hit single “Excess Love” in 2018.
Throughout her career, Chinwo has released several albums, including The Cross: My Gaze (2018) and Satisfied (2020), and has collaborated with other notable gospel artists. She has received numerous awards, including Best Gospel Artiste at the CLIMAX Awards in 2018 and the Best International Act Winner at the Premier Gospel Awards in the UK in 2023.
Mercy Chinwo is married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa.
