Akwa Ọkụkọ Tiwara Aki, Eke Hit And Onyeze Jesus Arraigned In Court

The Anambra State government has arraigned Akwa Ọkụkọ Tiwara Aki, Onyeze Jesus, and Eke Hit at the state’s High Court for charges of practicing illegal medicine, which the state government has prohibited.

The case is currently ongoing at the High Court in the capital of Anambra State today, Friday, April 4, 2025.

Recall that Chidozie Nwangwu, known for his rooster attire, and Ekene Igboekweze, popularly known as Onyeeze Jesus, were arrested in February 2025 on charges related to drug trafficking.

Their concern arose as the Anambra State government, led by Governor Charles Soludo, implemented a law in January 2025 to combat and prevent crime and insecurity, which has been a significant challenge for the state.

The law called ‘Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025’ includes a section that mandates the restriction of traditional healers and herbalists who practice witchcraft, which is said to contribute to insecurity in the southeastern region of Nigeria.
